Entity view (Content)

We are incredibly proud to announce a landmark achievement in our sustainability journey: CDM Stravitec has been officially recognised as an SDG Pioneer and awarded the prestigious SDG Pioneer Certificate by the United Nations! It is valid for a period of 3 years.

This global recognition is a testament to our deep, active, and measurable commitment to integrating the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the very core of our business strategy, operations, and culture.

The SDG Pioneer program identifies companies and leaders who are not just supporting the SDGs, but are actively driving innovative, impactful change to achieve them by 2030.

What the SDG Pioneer Certificate Means

The SDG Pioneer Certificate is more than an award, it's an independent validation of our efforts to be a responsible global citizen.

To achieve this, we demonstrated excellence across several key areas, proving that sustainable impact is woven into our DNA. For that, we have several key pillars, such as:

  • Strategic Integration: The SDGs are not a separate project; they guide our long-term business strategy and investment decisions.
  • Innovation for Good: We are actively integrating sustainability into the entire lifecycle of our new solutions, exemplified by innovations like the complete elimination of glue from most of our products.
  • Measurable Impact: We report transparently on our progress, setting ambitious targets and showing tangible results that contribute to global goals.
  • We kept 25 trucks off the road in 2024 by optimizing truck loads with Stravigym solutions: reducing emissions and fuel consumption.
SDG alignment: SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action).

  • Redesigning the channel and dBooster for floating floor solutions allowed us to save 940 liters of glue in 2024, decreasing material use and chemical impact.
SDG alignment: SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption & Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action).

  • Our HQ has been powered by green energy since 2023, thanks to the installation of solar panels that significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
SDG alignment: SDG 7 (Affordable & Clean Energy), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities), SDG 13 (Climate Action).

What’s next?

Karolien Verbraeken, from our VCDO team, reminds us:

“We are convinced that sustainability must be structurally embedded in our operations, forming the basis for a future-proof mission. In 2024, we took important steps to put both our people and our planet first. On the one hand, we achieved recognition as a ‘Great Place to Work’, which provides the foundation for a healthy working environment. On the other hand, we established the basis for an ambitious climate policy with the launch of CO₂ monitoring starting in 2025 and a reduction of 20 tons of CO₂ in our Scope 3 emissions through optimized logistics. At the same time, we continue to focus on ecodesign as a driver for sustainable innovation.”

Building on this recognition, we have already defined a clear roadmap of future actions and goals that will be shared with you shortly. The SDG Pioneer Certificate is a milestone, not a finish line. It motivates us to redouble our efforts and continue innovating to create a better world.
