Nestled in the lively city of Liège, along the picturesque banks of the Meuse River, a new Jewish Cultural Center has been carefully designed to support and enrich the local community.
Strategically positioned next to residential apartments, the project demanded thoughtful attention to noise control and privacy.
To ensure a harmonious coexistence, advanced vibration isolation and soundproofing systems were integrated, providing comfort for both visitors to the Center and neighboring residents.
To shield the surrounding neighborhood from excessive structure-borne noise generated in the spectacle room, the room’s concrete floor - supported by steel beams - was acoustically decoupled from the underlying concrete columns using Stravibase VHS resilient bearings.
To meet the specified maximum resonance frequency of 20 Hz, each bearing was constructed with two stacked 20 mm rubber layers, separated by steel plates.
A total of 16 column heads were fitted with sets of 2x2 Stravibase VHS-150 bearings, selected based on the relatively uniform load distribution across the columns.
