Budget chain MEININGER Hotels recently opened its first hotel in Hungary, the MEININGER Budapest Great Market Hall. The latest addition to the portfolio of this international budget chain thanks its name to its prime location, right next to the Central Market Hall at Fővám tér, close to the Danube.

Together with the MEININGER Hotel design team, Kai Ratschko, owner of the German Ratschko architectural office, created a unique, modern hotel with a distinctive style. The 184 rooms, reception desk, lobby, breakfast area and bar are painting in fun, bright colors and are decorated according to the Hungarian applied arts style, giving the seven-storey hotel a local identity.

According to the ‘hybrid design’ concept, MEININGER Budapest Great Market Hall offers its guests the services and comfort of a budget hotel, with additional extraordinary facilities such as a guest-kitchen and games room.

To guarantee that guests can enjoy a good night’s sleep and a relaxing stay, Stravilink PHS acoustic suspension hangers and metal springs were used to decouple the HVAC units from the rest of the building structure, preventing vibrations and noise from becoming a nuisance.
