Technical Bulletin: Stravifloor on CLT Slabs
Entity view (Content)
Learn more about how CLT-assemblies can provide satisfactory sound insulation with the use of lightweight floating floors
CDM Stravitec conducted a test campaign at the Buildwise research institute to measure the sound insulation properties of different lightweight Stravifloor floating floor systems in combination with CLT.
Various types of isolators were tested, including discrete bearings with varying thicknesses and void depths filled with insulation material or resilient mats and strips. Different dry screeds were tested as well, including with and without constrained layer damping technique and varying the type, thickness and number of boards used. In addition, gypsum screed was used in some of the tests, and certain setups were even tested with dropped ceilings.

Did you know we already have the results from the second round of this campaign?
We have now an addendum to the technical bulletin highlighting key findings from the second phase of this extensive study on the acoustical performance of lightweight Stravifloor and Stravilink acoustical suspended ceilings combined with CLT. Learn how you can enhance the overall acoustical behavior of the system by implementing asymmetric setups, specifically targeting the underside of the CLT slab.
