In early 2022, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts opened it’s first six star hotel in Latin America.
Designed by world-renowned architect Jean Nouvel and with interiors by visionary designer Philippe Starck, Rosewood São Paulo in Brazil encapsulates the city’s past and future. The landmark hotel occupies the historic hospital, Matarazzo Maternity, as well as a striking new vertical garden tower, drawing inspiration from the lush local vegetation.

Rosewood São Paulo includes 160 guest rooms and over 100 owners’ suites, two swimming pools and restaurants, a bar, a music studio, a cinema, and a caviar lounge amongst other things. The Asaya, the hotel’s well-being concept, makes this new landscape building a true metropolitan oasis, allowing guests to unwind after exploring Brazil’s financial heart.

Podium pools like the Emerald Garden Pool & Bar installed here, pose a number of design challenges compared to their in-ground counterparts. To prevent the transmission of structure-borne noise and vibrations associated with people swimming and playing, as well as the pool mechanical equipment and pumps, the infinity pool was decoupled using two layers of Stravifloor Mat-W25x isolation solution.
The great challenge was to insert the pool into the existing building, and to decouple the pool from its structure.

Where the pool meets the existing roof of the listed building, a 20 mm thick Perimeter Strip was installed.
