As part of its continued investment in innovative and employee-centered workplaces, Google leased several floors in the Warsaw HUB, a landmark, three-tower high-rise complex in the heart of the Polish capital’s business district. Known globally for its cutting-edge technology and modern office culture, Google aimed to enhance employee well-being by integrating a gym and fitness room on the top floor of the building, more than 100 meters above ground level.

As part of Google’s new offices within the Warsaw HUB, the top floor was designed to include a gym and fitness room, more than 100 meters above ground level. With office and meeting spaces located directly below, controlling structure-borne noise and vibrations from high-impact fitness activities became a critical challenge. To ensure a productive and comfortable workplace below, it was essential to implement targeted acoustic isolation measures to control noise and vibrations from the gym activities above. The gym featured a variety of activity zones, each with specific performance requirements.

The Stravigym XP system with dBooster® technology was selected for areas with moderate to high-intensity training, like strenght zone, offering enhanced impact and vibration control.

An Olympic-scale weightlifting zone required an even more robust solution, which included a 200 mm thick concrete slab floating on Stravifloor Jackup-R with springs, paired with GympactLayer-45 and a 20 mm high-performance finishing layer.

For the fitness classroom, where activities were less intense but still dynamic, the Stravigym HP system provided the right balance of vibration isolation and floor resilience. To guarantee the correct system was selected and properly calibrated, on-site testing was conducted during the design phase, followed by post-installation acoustic checks to confirm that gym activities would not interfere with the working environment below.
