The dwelling tower “Tour Brunfaut” had about 18 floor levels and needed to be renewed after many decades of existence; by entirely stripping the building to its concrete & steel skeleton, and exchanging the existing concrete slabs by light CLT floors, an optopping with some extra floor levels was possible, thereby resulting in extra flats; because of the lighter floors and walls, the acoustical isolation needed to be optimized, e.g. by using a high-performance floating floor setup everywhere…
On 160 mm CLT basefloor: Stravifloor Channel with pads in CDM-PF of 62 mm (sometimes 38mm if wooden overheight) + 2 boards of 19 mm thick fibregypsum “Knauf Brio” + vinyl.
