Celebrating 5 Years of Stravilink
Entity view (Content)
As we mark the 5th anniversary of Stravilink, our range of wall and ceiling decoupling solutions, we take a moment to reflect on the evolution of the brand, the expertise behind it, and the people helping to bring these solutions closer to the market every day.
Officially launched in 2021 as part of CDM Stravitec’s rebranding journey, Stravilink was created to make our wall and ceiling isolation offering clearer, more intuitive, and easier to navigate for our customers. But while the brand itself is five years old, the knowledge behind it is built on decades of experience in building acoustics, vibration isolation, and practical construction challenges.
Over the past five years, Stravilink has grown significantly. The product family has expanded, key solutions have been redesigned, new technical resources have been developed, and our communication has evolved to support not only acousticians and specifiers, but also drywall contractors and installers who need practical, reliable, and easy-to-use solutions on site.
Today, Stravilink plays an increasingly important role in helping projects address airborne and impact noise, improve acoustic performance, and meet the demands of modern construction. From wall ties to ceiling hangers, these solutions support the creation of quieter, more comfortable, and better-performing spaces.
To explore this journey, we sat down with Andrew Beverley, Sales Manager for the United Kingdom & Ireland, as part of our CDM Stravitec – Speaking With… podcast series. Although Andrew joined CDM Stravitec after the rebranding, he has experienced first-hand how Stravilink has grown in visibility, how customer expectations have evolved, and how the brand continues to strengthen its position in the UK and Ireland market.
In this conversation, Andrew shares his perspective on working with customers, the importance of practical technical resources, the shift towards supporting contractors more closely, and what he hopes we will be celebrating when Stravilink reaches its 10th anniversary.
-
What attracted you to join CDM Stravitec, and what convinced you that this was the right company for you?
I previously worked in a specialist acoustic contractor, and while I didn’t have any direct contact with CDM Stravitec at the time, I was aware of the company and also of the excellent reputation of Sarah Huskie within the acoustics industry. When an opening became available, I really wanted to find out more and once I met Sarah and discussed the job and the company it was a no-brainer to make the switch.
-
What does a typical day look like as Sales Manager for the UK and Ireland?
My role is really varied. From cold calling potential new clients, meeting existing ones, pricing projects, offering technical support, and of course lots of travelling throughout the UK and Ireland. I have also worked in Paris, Barcelona, and Cologne for the company since I joined.
-
What do you enjoy most about working with customers in the acoustic and construction sectors?
I think the project variety is something that I most enjoy. We encounter new types of problems all the time, and it gives me opportunities to learn new things, help customers with specific problems and work closely with our engineering department, who help us out a lot.
-
How has Stravilink established itself in the UK and Ireland market over the last few years?
The marketing department has put a tremendous amount of effort into making the brand more visible and making the resources available to the sales teams in order to help us help customers more easily. With the install guides and datasheets, the hangers are quickly becoming established as an industry standard item.
-
Do you think the Stravilink brand helps our customers better understand our wall and ceiling isolation offering compared to the past?
Yes, most definitely. Again, the marketing department’s resources and the increased internal knowledge of the products allow us to help them get the right product.
-
Which developments or innovations within the Stravilink portfolio stand out the most for you?
The new range of hangers has really simplified things for the customer, which makes life easier for them.
Detailed datasheets and installation guides are the ones that have the biggest impact on customers. The consultants love it for specification, and the contractors love it for the simplicity of the guide. They work really well in the fast-moving and often time-pressured on-site environment.
-
We've increasingly developed tools and content for drywall contractors. How important is that shift?
Very important. It allows us to work much closer with contractors and offer them the exact kind of support they may need. As it is quite a specialist item still, not all contractors have come across products yet, so having the tools available has really made their life easier.
-
If we were recording this podcast again on Stravilink's 10th anniversary, what would you hope we'd be celebrating?
I think by this time, Stravilink being a market-leading product with really good visibility across the whole sector will be an excellent achievement.
