F45 Training - Dun Laoghaire

F45 Training is an Australian franchisor and operator of fitness centers based in Austin, Texas. It is currently one of the fastest growing fitness franchises globally, with over 1,750 studios in 45 countries across Australia, North and South America, Asia, Europe and Africa.

F45 offers thousands of exercises, customized training systems, circuit movement patterns, timing modules and workouts that change on a daily basis.

To prevent structure-borne vibrations from creating a noise problem in the surrounding spaces the new gym needed to be acoustically isolated.

To reduce noise from activities in the gym causing noise nuisance to the residential apartments above, F45 Training decided to install a box-in-box system, consisting of a Stravigym HP floating floor, a heavy hung acoustic ceiling and wall isolation system.

Floor
The Stravigym GympactLayer-20 as an impact absorption layer, extending the time of contact/impact and, thereby, reducing the peak impact force and the noise generated. The high-performance acoustic system with discrete isolators and resilient channels is specifically engineered to control vibrations, minimize low-frequency impact noise, and reduce the transmission of audible structure-borne noise generated by various fitness activities.

Ceiling & Walls
To reduce music noise and shouting within the gym area transmitting up through the ceiling and walls, a heavy hung acoustic ceiling system was installed using our Stravilink CC40 resilient ceiling hangers with 2 layers of 15 mm soundbloc gypsum board and for the walls a Stravilink QRW wall isolation system was installed with 2 layers of 15 mm soundbloc gypsum board to complete the box-in-box construction.
