Renaissance Porto Lapa Hotel

Expected to be ready by the end of 2022, the new Porto Lapa Park - Renaissance Hotel by Marriott will offer stunning views of Porto. The top floor will house a panoramic outdoor swimming pool with bar and terrace, restaurant, and a congress center able to seat up to 600 people. 

Porto’s newest luxury hotel is bing build in Porto’s most historic neighborhood, right next to Lapa Church, the Clérigos Tower, and other popular sights. 

Once completed, Lapa Park Hotel will have a LEED Gold Certification, thanks to its efficient use of water and energy, and the selected building materials.

Stravibase VHS structural bearings are installed underneath the monolithic concrete infinity pool, isolating and preventing structure-borne noise and vibrations from reaching the rooms below. The high stress elastomeric bearings are devided over 8 load distribution points, supporting the  overhanging rooftop infinity pool.  

The added steel plates allow the bearings to cope with the high load and stress coming from the cantilever design and help create a dramatic pool that offers stunning views of Oporto and the river.
