In 1945, Lawrence Berk founded Berklee. He was an engineer trained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a veteran arranger with the CBS and NBC radio orchestras. His ambition was to teach contemporary music and prepare working musicians for a real-life career. With a diverse and talented student body representing 96 countries, and alumni who have collectively won 305 Grammys and Latin Grammys, Berklee is the world’s premier learning lab for the musicians of today and tomorrow.

First opened at Valencia in January 1992, the scoring stage and 4 recording studios were designed by the renowned acoustic design consultants at the Walters-Storyk Design Group (WSDG). Featuring excellent acoustics and sound isolation, the recording studios allow for developing, producing, designing and completing music projects in top-notch professional production facilities, all equipped with the latest hardware and software.

CDM Stravitec contributed significantly to reaching the highest standards in acoustics by supplying a high-performance isolation system according the box-in-box principle for those recording studios. This system is composed of a resilient floating floor system (Stravifloor Mount), combined with acoustic hangers for the walls (Stravilink QR) and ceilings (Stravilink PHS).
