About Us

CDM Stravitec is a Belgian-based group with ten subsidiaries worldwide. We specialize in the design, supply, and installation of structural acoustics and vibration solutions for buildings and floor/ceiling and wall applications. With a 70-year history, we apply our deep knowledge in noise and vibration isolation techniques as well as creativity to provide solutions to clients in the built environment. 

To support our growing business and demand, we are looking for an energetic, full-time Project Engineer in London, UK. 

The position will involve managing projects on site and nurturing relations with Acoustical Consultants, Stability Engineers, Architects and Contractors. 


Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Attending design meetings with clients, architects & acoustic consultants
  • Material take-off from client drawings
  • On-site supervision, follow-up and installation management of the defined solutions
  • Liaison with the installation team
  • Optimisation of materials and labour
  • Producing method statements and risk assessments a working knowledge of onsite health and safety is essential
  • Liaising with our factory and HQ in Belgium regarding manufacture, specification and quality
  • Analysing technical project specifications to formulate and design the optimal technical CDM Stravitec Ltd (UK) solution, with assistance of the responsible product managers and draftsmen
  • Preparing sketches, drawings and specifications showing materials to be used, construction and finishing methods and other details
  • Providing technical and commercial offers for the CDM Stravitec solution
  • Establish and maintain relationships with all customer types
  • Delegate responsibilities to the support staff of the project, and adjust resources according to the general needs of the project
  • Define and reach sales objectives with the CDM Stravitec Ltd (UK) Director


Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years minimum experience in engineering in construction
  • A mandatory degree in Engineering with a Civil Engineering background
  • Mandatory experience in understanding general building construction
  • Experience in the domain of acoustics and/or vibrations is considered as a strong asset
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, creative, with an entrepreneurial flare
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Numerate, articulate with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Mandatory practical on-site project experience
  • Computer literate with Autocad experience

Location & Working Hours

  • South-East
  • 08:00-17:00, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
  • Working from Home/Site based
  • Holiday entitlement: 25 working days per year

Following an initial training period at the company's headquarters in Belgium, the successful candidate will be required to work on their own initiative, delivering quality work sometimes against very short deadlines.
